Applying God's Word

This Week's Questions:

Matthew 5:27-32

This Week's Sermon:

"The Call To Faithfulness"

Every Sunday that we hear the Word of God preached it is an invitation from the Lord to realign our lives with his perfect truth. His Word is living and active. It is sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of our hearts. If we are faithful to humble ourselves under its authority, God has promised to transform our lives through it.

With this knowledge in mind, we don't want to leave Sunday's sermon in the pew. We want to take the Word we've been taught and meditate on it, pray about it, and study further throughout the week. We want to give the Holy Spirit space to work in our hearts, drawing us closer to him as we submit ourselves to his Truth. One way that we are seeking to accomplish this goal in our church is through discussing sermon application in our community groups each Wednesday night.

Applying God's Word is a series of questions created to help you delve deeper into the passage preached at the previous Sunday worship service. These questions will provide a structure for your discussion and prayer time during King's Church's Community Group meetings throughout the week. Please print them out if you are able to prior to Wednesday night so that you can begin to think through some of the questions. CG leaders will also have extra copies on hand at your meeting.
