Sunday's Sermon Text:

Matthew 5:13-16

This Sunday we come to the end of the introduction to the Sermon on the mount as we explore Jesus' call for his disciples to live as salt and light in the world. This means that the way of the kingdom is the way of witness. It is Christ's kingdom people who bring the gospel to bear on the world around them.

As you prepare for worship this week by reading this passage, think about the purpose of salt and light in our everyday lives (and especially in the lives of those in 1st century). How might applying this to yourself shape the way you live in the world?
