I pray the resources this week will not only help us to think deeply and rightly about our Lord but that they also will spur us on to live in disticntivley Christian ways that bring him glory.

Podcasts:

  • Home Fires: Radically Ordinary Home - This is great podcast and this particular episode with Rosaria Butterfield is a fantastic reminder of the importance of hospitality and using our time, our homes, and our lives to welcome our neighbors and point them to Christ.
  • Simply Put - This podcast put out by Ligonier Ministries is a true gem. The episodes aim to be short five minute summaries of core Christian doctrines. They are not only biblically faithful but truly aim to move our hearts to worship the Lord in light of the beauty of who he is.

Articles:

  • Tilly Dilehay - How The Rod Can Point Children To God. This article is a good reminder for the current generation of parents with young children that discipline isn’t unloving but actually reflects the very heart of God. It also reminds us of the necessity of seeking guidance from others rather than trying to figure it out all on our own.
  • Bobby Jamieson - How to Master the Art of Disagreement—in the Church and on Social Media. A true temptation facing the church today is to think our words don’t matter. Social Media has taught us to share our thoughts without care and precision and without regard for how they reflect Christ and effect others. This threat is so great because it has the potential to create division in places were Scripture demands unity. This article offers some helpful reflections on how to combat this temptation.

Books:

  • Michael Reeves - Delighting in the Trinity. This short book on the Trinity is one of the best introductions to the doctrine available. And on top of being short, it aims and succeeds at not only filling our minds with biblical knowledge, but filling our hearts with religious affections. Highly recommended.
